How it works

It starts with one phone call

Fifteen minutes with Lana before anything is booked or paid for.

  1. Step 1

    Book a free 15-minute call

Pick a time that suits you. No card, no commitment — just a conversation about what your child is finding hard right now.

  2. Step 2

    Talk it through with Lana

Lana will ask what's been going on and explain how sessions work, and you'll both decide whether it's the right fit. If it isn't, Lana will say so and point you somewhere better.

  3. Step 3

Your account opens, and you book

If it's a fit, Lana opens your account. You buy the sessions you want and request an open time; Lana approves it, usually the same day.

Plans change — we know. Cancel at least 24 hours before a session and it goes back on your account automatically, no phone call required.

What we do

Three ways to help

From Pre-K to 5th grade, every session goes to the thing that's actually hard right now — in a quiet room, at your child's pace.

The after-school hour, minus the battle

Homework Club

The after-school hour, minus the battle. A small group of students gets their work done side by side, with a patient teacher there for every question.

  • Homework finished before dinner, not after it
  • A small group working side by side
  • Re-teaching whatever didn't land in class that day
  • Study routines and organization that stick

Meet Lana Millard

A Teacher, a Quiet Space, and Room to Grow

After 15 years teaching at Franklin Academy, Lana Millard kept seeing the same thing: a student who just needed someone to sit beside them and go slower. Not a program. Not a curriculum. A person.

Mason's Legacy

Moore Prep carries the name of a little boy who gave his one year of kindergarten everything he had.

All Elementary Grade Levels

Pre-Kindergarten prep through all elementary grades. Preparing your child for school, helping identify needs Whatever your child is working on this week is what we work on.

15 + Years in the Classroom

15 years teaching at Franklin Academy, with hundreds of families along the way. Second year serving in long-term substituting roles at Ravenscroft.

Giving Back

A portion of each session goes to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital in Mason's honor.

In memory

Named for Mason Moore.

So Lana started Moore Prep — a small tutoring practice in downtown Wake Forest for students from Pre-K through 5th grade. It is named for Mason Moore, who poured himself into his one year of kindergarten with a joy that everyone around him felt. He passed away from cancer, and his love of learning is the reason this exists.

A portion of all proceeds is donated each year to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital in Mason's honor.

Our promise

What every family gets
